High Tea with VnB

I love entertaining at home and having people over, even the smallest of occasions marks itself with a fitting and beautiful table. When entertaining at home, I like to keep things simple. I bring out my crockery and then walk around the house to look for linens and objects that I can introduce into my setting. I create a sort of visual moodboard to see what works and then layer these details on a table.

I think it is especially important to create different levels to look at in a space. I often find that homes are very flat and there isn’t enough play with on  all the surfaces. In this setting, there is a beautiful rug topped by a table of treasures.

Your centre table should be a rotating showcase of the fun things in your home. Curios from my holiday and treasures that I have collected over time like these wooden birds I found in Jodhpur become a part of my centrepiece.

To me, beauty isn't something that has to be reserved for the best days. Our lives become richer by what we do in the everyday. So wear your best clothes today, pick out your brightest lipstick, set the table for lunch and pop open that champagne you've been saving for that someday.
